Long green gourds can be eaten young like a zucchini or allowed to mature. The rind will become hard and if dried can be transformed into bowls, bottles and art. These are native to tropical regions of Africa but have long since been cultivated in warm regions world wide. The rampant vines are very vigorous with large white blossoms that attract pollinators.
